Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before placing an order.

1. About Us

Rowley Home is a trading name of McEvoy & Rowley Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 01678294. Our registered office is McEvoy & Rowley Ltd, Marlow, Buckinghamshire. 2. Prices

All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling and include VAT at the applicable rate. Delivery charges, if any, are shown separately at checkout. We reserve the right to change advertised prices at any time. The price you pay is the price shown at the time your order is received, except where a pricing error has occurred. If we discover a pricing error, we will contact you to offer the correct price or a full refund. Once an order has been processed and delivery arranged, subsequent price changes cannot be applied to that order.

3. Payment

We accept payment by major credit and debit cards, as well as Klarna (where available at checkout). Full payment is taken at the time your order is placed. Order confirmation is sent by email to the address you provide at checkout.

4. Availability

All goods are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we are unable to fulfil your order, we will notify you and offer an alternative product or a full refund. If a product has been discontinued, we may offer the equivalent current model at the same price. If this is not possible, we will contact you to discuss your options.

5. Placing an Order

When you place an order through our website, it constitutes an offer to purchase the goods subject to these terms. Our checkout process allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting your order. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of your order. Upon placing an order you will receive an acknowledgement email; this does not constitute acceptance. A binding contract is formed when we send a separate email confirming your order. If we are unable to supply the goods, we will notify you by email and will not process your order. Any pre-payment will be refunded in full including any delivery charges paid.

6. Delivery

Once your order has been processed, you will receive an estimated delivery date. We will endeavour to meet this date but delivery may be affected by events outside our control. Delivery is to the room of your choice at ground floor level (or via a lift where available). Please ensure there is a clear path from the front door to the installation area and protect any floor coverings, doors and door frames; we cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by failure to take reasonable precautions.

Delivery is complete when goods are unloaded at your address. Risk passes to you at that point. Ownership of the goods transfers to you once we have received payment in full.

Goods will not be left unattended outside a property. Someone must be present at the delivery address with access to the room where the appliance is to be placed. If no one is available, delivery will fail and redelivery charges may apply.

If you fail to accept delivery within 10 days of being notified that your goods are ready, we may cancel the order, refund the amount you have paid (less any failed delivery charges) and sell the goods to another customer.

7. Old Appliance Removal

We can arrange collection and recycling of your existing appliance on a like-for-like basis at the time of delivery. If this service has been ordered but is declined at the point of delivery, it is non-refundable as space has been allocated on the delivery vehicle.

8. Returns & Refunds

Your statutory legal rights are not affected by this policy.

Damaged or Faulty Goods

We aim to deliver every product in brand new condition. If your appliance arrives damaged, please report it to us within 48 hours. Do not use or install a damaged product if you wish to receive a full refund. Faults discovered after 30 days but within the manufacturer's guarantee period should be reported to the manufacturer directly.

Change of Mind

You may cancel an unwanted item within 14 days, starting the day after delivery. Products must be returned in as-new condition; original packaging is preferred. Used or installed products may not be eligible for a refund unless they are faulty. Please contact us before returning any product so we can arrange collection. A collection charge will apply:

Late cancellation fees (£30 per item) apply if you cancel after 4:00 pm the day before delivery, or on the delivery day itself.

9. Installation

Installation services are available in certain areas. If installation cannot be completed due to undisclosed site conditions or failure to comply with the pre-install checks below, a failed connection charge may apply (up to 100% of the installation fee).

To help your installation go smoothly, please run through the relevant checklist below before your appointment. All connections (electrical, gas, water, waste) must be within 1 metre of the appliance's final position, fit for purpose, and readily accessible. Our engineer will not re-route, extend or alter existing services on site.

General requirements (all installations)

  • The space is measured and the new appliance will fit, including any clearance and ventilation specified by the manufacturer.
  • There is clear and safe access from our delivery vehicle to the installation point.
  • The surrounding environment is free of combustible materials (wallpaper, fabric coverings, curtains, shelving, power points or switches directly behind or above the appliance).
  • You have removed the old appliance from the space, or booked our disconnection service.

Electric cookers (freestanding)

  • Single ovens rated under 3 kW: a standard 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • Cookers rated 3 kW or above: a dedicated 32 amp cooker outlet within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

Gas, dual fuel & LPG cookers

  • A compatible gas supply with an isolation tap within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • Dual fuel models: an electrical supply within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • Models with electronic ignition: a 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

LPG properties (red or blue cylinders, or a bulk tank outside the property): please call us on 01628 779022 before booking so we can confirm the cooker can be converted by our Gas Safe engineers.

Washing machines & washer-dryers

  • A 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • Mains water and waste connections within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

Dishwashers

  • A 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • Mains water and waste connections within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

Fridges, freezers, fridge-freezers & American-style

  • A 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • For models with a water/ice dispenser: a mains water connection within 1 metre of the appliance.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

Integrated washing machines, washer-dryers & dishwashers

  • A 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance housing.
  • Mains water and waste connections within 1 metre of the appliance housing.
  • The housing cut-out matches the manufacturer's specified dimensions and the cabinet door/panel is ready to be fitted.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

Integrated refrigeration

  • A 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the appliance housing.
  • For models with a water/ice dispenser: a mains water connection within 1 metre of the appliance housing.
  • The housing cut-out matches the manufacturer's specified dimensions, including ventilation, and the cabinet door/panel is ready to be fitted.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

TVs & home entertainment

  • A 13 amp socket within 1 metre of the final mounting or stand position.
  • Any HDMI leads, dongles or other accessories needed for your setup are on site.
  • A working broadband connection is available for smart-TV setup (Wi-Fi password to hand).
  • If wall-mounting is booked, the wall type has been declared at point of sale and the bracket is suitable for the TV and wall construction.
  • All general requirements above are satisfied.

If any of the above cannot be met on the day, the engineer may be unable to complete the installation and the installation charge will not be refundable. Where possible we will reschedule against a further call-out fee.

10. Accuracy of Product Information

Product information on our website is sourced from manufacturer documentation and is believed to be correct and accurate. However, we cannot be held responsible for errors or omissions in the source material.

11. Manufacturer Guarantees

Unless otherwise stated, all goods carry a minimum 12-month parts-and-labour guarantee from the manufacturer, provided the appliance is used solely for domestic purposes in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction book and has not been subject to misuse, accident, modification or unauthorised repair. Where a guarantee exceeds 12 months, registration with the manufacturer within 28 days of receipt may be required to qualify for the extended coverage.

12. Events Outside Our Control

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, severe weather, epidemics or pandemics, war or civil unrest, government actions or restrictions, labour disputes, or failures of third-party utilities or suppliers. If such an event continues for more than 30 days, you may cancel the contract by contacting us. We will refund any amounts paid for goods not yet delivered.

13. Your Data

We use the personal information you provide to supply your goods, process payments, contact you about your order, and notify you of any manufacturer safety notices or product recalls. We comply with all applicable UK data protection laws when processing your personal data. 14. Communications

“In writing” includes email. Any notices or communications under these terms should be sent by email or by first-class post. Notices are deemed received: if delivered by hand, at the time of delivery; if sent by first-class post, at 9:00 am on the second working day after posting; or if sent by email, at 9:00 am on the next working day after sending.

15. General

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms to another person without our written agreement. We may amend these terms from time to time; this does not affect your statutory rights. If we do not insist on strict performance of any obligation, or if we delay in exercising any right, this does not constitute a waiver of that right or obligation.

16. Governing Law

This contract is governed by English law. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. How to Make a Complaint

We want every customer to be completely satisfied. If something has gone wrong, please let us know so we can put it right. You can contact us by:

18. Connectable Product Security

The UK's consumer connectable product security regime (effective 29 April 2024) requires all new WiFi-enabled products to meet minimum security requirements. Manufacturers must issue a Statement of Compliance (SoC) certifying compliance with the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (PSTI) Act.
